Privacy Policy.

Last updated · 30 April 2026
Applies to · DaySense for iPhone  ·  DaySense for Windows

DaySense reflects what you log. Both versions are designed for private daily tracking and reflection — not medical advice, emergency support, or a replacement for professional care.

Product boundary

DaySense is a private day-by-day record for sleep, mood, energy, stress, context, notes, and related daily information. It reflects the entries you log, and you can review that record over time on the platform you choose.

DaySense does not diagnose conditions, provide medical advice, monitor crises, detect emergencies, or replace professional care. The same boundary applies to both DaySense for iPhone and DaySense for Windows.

Shared principles

The following principles apply to both versions of DaySense.

  • Your wellness entries are stored locally on the device you use them on.
  • No DaySense account is required for the core tracking flow on either platform.
  • Neither version uploads your wellness entries to a DaySense cloud service in the current builds.
  • Neither version runs DaySense analytics tracking on your wellness entries, and neither includes third-party advertising or attribution SDKs.
  • Neither version automatically contacts emergency services, carers, or any third party on your behalf.
  • External links, phone calls, and email actions only run when you choose them.
  • You can export or delete your local DaySense record at any time.

DaySense for iPhone

iPhone build · iOS

Local data stored on iPhone

The current iPhone build can store the following on your device:

  • mood, energy, sleep and sleep timing
  • selected profile, onboarding and context visibility choices
  • profile-specific context selections
  • medication entries and adherence
  • caffeine, alcohol and stress entries (with optional triggers)
  • optional / basic tracker records
  • optional Apple Health nutrition totals saved into a daily nutrition record
  • optional nearby activity ideas you choose to save
  • notes
  • appointments and recurrence information
  • saved personal resources
  • app preferences, tracking toggles and display preferences

Storage technology (iPhone)

Entries and appointments are stored in a local SQLite database managed by EntryStore. Lightweight preferences are stored using Apple's local app preferences system through @AppStorage.

Apple StoreKit

Subscription processing is handled by Apple via StoreKit. DaySense does not see or store your payment details. Subscription status is checked through Apple's receipt mechanism on the device. The iPhone build is free for core daily logging. Premium features are available via a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. Restore Purchases is available in the app. You can manage or cancel your subscription via your Apple ID settings.

Optional Apple integrations

  • Apple Health (nutrition): optional and read-only. DaySense does not write to Apple Health.
  • Location (nearby activity ideas): optional and user-initiated. Location is used only for the nearby search request, and raw coordinates are not saved into your daily record.

Export and import (iPhone)

The current iPhone build does not provide cloud sync. You can export and import a local DaySense record JSON file from Settings when changing devices or keeping your own backup.

If subscription access expires, the iPhone build still lets you export or delete the local record from your iPhone.

DaySense for Windows

Windows build · Desktop

Local data stored on Windows

The Windows build is local-first. Wellness entries are stored locally on your Windows device, separate from the iPhone build's storage.

Storage technology (Windows)

The Windows build uses a local SQLite database for wellness entries and preferences. No DaySense cloud account is required for core tracking on Windows.

Purchases (Windows)

Where the Windows build is distributed via the Microsoft Store, purchases are handled by Microsoft's billing system. DaySense does not see or store your payment details.

Export & deletion (Windows)

The Windows build provides user-initiated export of your local DaySense record, and you can delete the local record from your Windows device at any time.

For Windows-specific specifics, see the DaySense for Windows page and any Windows in-app privacy notice.

Resources & external actions

On both platforms, the Resources area can open websites, phone links, or email links. These actions may leave DaySense and open another app or service on your device. They only run when you choose them.

Optional support links are user-initiated. DaySense does not automatically call, message, or alert anyone.

Children

DaySense is not directed at children under 13. The apps are rated for general audiences and do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used DaySense and you'd like to ask a question about it, please contact us at the address below.

Your control over your data

  • Access: open the app at any time — your record is on your device.
  • Export: generate a versioned local file from Settings.
  • Delete: remove your local record from the device in Settings.
  • Withdraw: on iPhone, deleting the app normally removes the app's local container data. On Windows, use the in-app delete controls where available before uninstalling if you want to remove your DaySense record. Platform uninstall behaviour may vary.

Changes to this policy

If either build's behaviour materially changes (for example, if a future build introduces sync, an account system, or analytics), this policy will be updated to reflect that before release. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version, and platform-specific sections will be updated independently when needed.

Contact

If you have a privacy question about DaySense on either platform, please get in touch at bobby@daysense.co.uk. We try to respond within a few working days.
